Limni Project

Northern Lion has permits and applications for over 20km strike length of favourable mineralized horizons along the south west margin of the Troodos Ophiolite complex. The south western flanks are poorly explored in modern times and is largely open for claiming and exploration.

The pillow and other lavas along the south western flanks of the Troodos Complex:
  • Have seen small scale mining in the past, evidenced by very old slag heaps and adits from the Roman and Phoenician times
  • Have been subject to strong hydrothermal activity evidenced by extensive alteration and the occurrence of stringer zones
  • Have high contents of copper, silver and gold in grab samples
  • Copper ore may be rich in gold, evidenced by high gold contents in grab samples and the fact that gold and lead were mined in early stages of mining at Limni, a mine which is in the western end of the volcanic belt.
  • Are only slightly more than 25 km away from the largest Cyprus copper mines in the volcanics of the northern flanks on the other side of the Ophiolite
During management's initial visit to the area, six grab samples were collected from within the new application areas. Highlights include a sample from the Limni project which returned 7.3 grams per tonne ("g/t") gold and 17.6 g/t silver.
